3436558 - How to Assign different Cost Centers or Account Assignment for each line item in Shopping Cart?

Symptom

You want to create a shopping cart where account assignment should be per line item not per document, i.e. you want cost for line item 1 to go to a certain cost center and cost for line item 2 to be assigned to a different cost center or account assignment type. 

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Home work center
  2. Select  Self Services view->Self-Services Overview-> Shopping
  3. Select Go Shopping(Advanced) -> create shopping cart with multiple items
  4. You are unable to assign each line item to different cost centers or maintain separate account assignment type for each item.

Cause

It is not possible to specify different account assignment for each line item in shopping cart. 

If you add multiple cost centers or other account assignment types in the shopping cart initial screen i.e. Go Shopping (Advanced): set defaults-> account assignment type-> add row, then it will distribute the quantity for each item  to different cost centers mentioned here .

Resolution

This can be done when purchase request and purchase order is created. At that time, you can assign separate account assignment for each item.

OR

You can also create stand alone Purchase Order for multiple items with different account assignment types.
