3437240 - Error displayed when trying to delete an account defined in Chart of Accounts

Symptom

Deleting a G/L account that has been defined in the Chart of Accounts window, is not possible. The user encounters one of the following error messages when right-clicking the account code in the Edit Chart of Accounts window and selecting "Advanced" followed by "Delete Account":

Cannot delete an account that is linked to Period Category

or

Cannot delete an account used in advanced G/L account determination rules; remove the account from all related rules first   [Message 1473000001-31]
