Symptom
When setting up the SAP SuccessFactors app in Microsoft Teams, you need to configure how users in SAP SuccessFactors are matched to users in Azure AD (Microsoft Entra ID). This matching process is called User Mapping.
This article explains what identifier options are currently available and whether custom ones can be added.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
Feature: Work Tech Configuration — SAP SuccessFactors App in Microsoft Teams
Reproducing the Issue
Customer would like to add additional User Identifier
- Go to Admin Center-> Work Tech Configuration
- SAP SuccessFactors App in Teams -> User Mapping
Available User Identifier Options

| Azure AD (Microsoft Entra ID) | mail, userPrincipalName, onPremisesSamAccountName, or Directory Extension |
About the Directory Extension option: If you select Directory (Microsoft Entra ID) extension on the Azure AD side, you can manually enter the name of a custom directory extension property — giving you additional flexibility on the Azure AD side.
