3438567 - Error: 'Email Address Of Certificate Does Not Match Outgoing E-mail Address' When Uploading The Key Pair In S/MIME

Symptom

When the user tries to upload a key pair for the e-mail address XXX in configure S/MIME displays an error: 'Email Address Of Certificate Does Not Match Outgoing E-mail Address'

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Application and User Management workcenter
  2. Go to Configure S/MIME view
  3. Navigate to the Outgoing Email
  4. Choose Upload Key Pair
  5. Enter the File path and the Password
  6. Select OK

Notice the error: Email Address Of Certificate Does Not Match Outgoing E-mail Address

Cause

The user has not maintained the DKIM signed domain.

Resolution

User has to maintain the DKIM signed domain or keep the SAP default sender address DoNotReply@myxxxx.mail.sapbydesign.com which will directly validate the certificate. This can be verified by following the below steps:

  1. Go to Business Configuration workcenter
  2. Go to overview view
  3. Search for Email and Fax Setting
  4. Verify the Default Sender Address maintained in the system
