3438702 - Generate Project Name by Combining Multiple Custom Fields

Symptom

This is a new function of BYD2402 which is introduced in the below link:

What's New in Project Management | SAP Help Portal

It says that "While creating a new project, you can now generate a project name by concatenating different fields of the project in your solution".

User wants to know more details about the functionality.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Cause

Generating a Project name means combining or concatenating more than one Customer enhanced UI screen with multiple inputs fields for Project name creation.

This can only be realized when there are PDI Add-ons to support UI screen enhancement while creating a new Project and generating or creating Project name.

Note: In Standard SAP BYD Project creation, we directly have one mandatory input field to define project name, which is "Project name*".

Resolution

Example of this function:

In customized screen at Project GAF page, step 3: Define Project.

With two self-defined name fields, the Project Name* field will show the combined/generated name as the project name.

Note: String Concatenation logic of these inputs’ fields will be written in PDI Addons using Cloud Application Studio by Business Partner Developer.
