3439167 - Error: "Do not use transfer from universal journal if source ledger is not set" pops up when uploading consolidation master data

Symptom

Getting error while uploading consolidation unit in the app Import Consolidation Master Data.

Error: Do not use transfer from universal journal if source ledger is not set.

Reproducing the Issue

1. Open app Import Consolidation Master Data;

2. Upload Consolidation Unit template file;

3. Check statues -> Error message pops up.

Cause

There is no source ledger/Preparation Ledger for the consolidation version. Based on help Define Consolidation Units:

If you select Transfer from Universal Journal for a consolidation unit, the data release task is available in the data monitor to transfer transaction data for the CU from accounting to group reporting.

If you're working in a year as of the From Year for Group Reporting Preparation Ledger, then the following prerequisites must be fulfilled before you can choose Transfer from Universal Journal:

The selected consolidation version must have a group reporting preparation ledger assigned for the source ledger.

If you're working in a year before the From Year for Group Reporting Preparation Ledger, then the following prerequisites must be fulfilled before you can choose Transfer from Universal Journal:

The selected consolidation version needs to have an accounting source ledger assigned.

Resolution

It's necessary to maintain field "Preparation Ledger"/"Source ledger" in Configuration Define Version for the specific version.
