3439473 - Report Schedule of Fixed Asset shows a different Netbook Value

You opened report: Schedule of Fixed Assets (FINFXAU01_Q0002). The Net Book Value for Fixed Asset Class DE (DE represents the Fixed Asset Class) at end of the year is different to the Net Book Value at start of the following year for the same Fixed Asset Class. 

You expect the values to be the same.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Work Center Fixed Assets
2. Select the View : Lists
3. Search for Report Schedule of Fixed Assets (FINFXAU01_Q0002)
4. Enter the selection criteria:
   1. Company: ABC (ABC represents the company ID)
   2. Set of Books: 1
   3. Valuation View: 1

(In this example we are using the years 2022 & 2023)

In the report you enter Accounting period selection: from 001.2022 till 012.2022

• The Net Book Value for Fixed Asset Class DE at the end of 2022 is 10000 EUR. 

Now change the timeframe or open a second report with a timeframe selection: from 001.2023 till 012.2023

• Here you can see the Net Book Value at start of 2023 = 12500 EUR.

There is a difference. You expect the ending value at 2022 to be the same as opening value 2023

There is missing Fixed Assets in the report results for 2023.

If you add the Fixed Asset ID as key figure to the row fields of the reports and compare both reports you notice that in the report for the year 2023  Fixed Asset ID XYZ (XYZ stand for Fixed Asset ID) is missing.

Fixed Asset XYZ has a Net Book Value at end 2022 of 2500. Eur. This is the value that is missing and the difference you can see in both reports.

1. Go to the Work Center Fixed Asset.
2. Select the View Fixed Assets.
3. Open Fixed Asset XYZ.
4. View All.
5. Go to Master Data.
6. Go to Subtab Basic Data.
7. Here you can see that the Fixed Asset XYZ has only a valid assignment to an cost object till a date in year 2022.

As the Fixed Asset XYZ is not assigned to any cost object in 2023 this Fixed Asset is missing in the report Schedule of Fixed Asset in 2023. 

To have the correct values in the report for 2023 you must validate the Organisational Assignment of the Fixed Asset XYZ.
