3439845 - In The Sales Order Items Tab Quantity is Getting Over Written by 0 and Cannot Update Item Group

You are trying to update Quantity in the sales order but it's getting over written by 0 and cannot update item group as well.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to sales order work center.
2. View: sales orders.
3. Search and edit ABC (ABC represents sales order ID).
4. Navigate to Items tab
5. Change the quantity to 10 and click enter but quantity value reverts back to 0.
6. Click on drop down in Item type and it's blank and also manual entry is not allowed.

As we can see in the General tab of sales order ABC that sales unit, sales organization and distribution channel is not maintained. Hence the system won't allow to update the quantity.

This is because in product master data the Item group, quantity and sales UOM is configured for respective sales organization and distribution channel. The sales order fetches the information from product master data which won't allow you to update quantity or item group if the sales unit and distribution channel are not maintained.

This is expected system standard behavior.
