Symptom
- In the Position to Requisition Rule mapping, the operator is mapped using the rule function "Get Incumbent by Position" and the Position has 2 active incumbents.
- Incumbent One is on leave so Incumbent Two should be the assigned operator in the job requisition but system pulls Incumbent One as the operator.
- How to select which incumbent is assigned to the operator field in the Job requisition?
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Resolution
Product confirmed that this is expected behavior. Currently, we are not able to define which user will be picked by the rule. The system will query the database and assign whichever incumbent is returned first by the system.
We can find the same in the guide: Get Incumbent By Position
"The rule returns the user ID of the incumbent of the position. If more than one incumbent satisfies the rule, only one is returned. This rule function only selects employees with an active employment."
Note: The same behavior applies when using the rule function "Get Next Available Manager By Position" and there are 2 incumbents in the Position.
