3440674 - MPX creation fails with iPV6 addresses - SAP IQ

Symptom

Multiplex hosts are configured as follows:

  • Multiplex hosts are configured with several network cards.
  • Some of the network cards have an iPV4 address.
  • Some other network cards have an iPV6 address.
  • In /etc/hosts file, there could have (but not necessarily) an alias defined for the coordinator host and the reader host.

Excerpt of /etc/hosts
iPV6 address                                        Hostname                           Alias used in IQ
2001:xxxx:xxxx:xxd::20  CO_hostname         mpx_co      (Coordinator)
2001:yyyy:yyyy:yyd::22  reader_hostname     mpx_reader  (reader)

    • The coordinator starts.
    • The secondary server is created.
    • But the secondary server fails to start.
