Symptom

  • After receiving a signal 11 at address bufdlink
  • The ASE server terminates
  • Due to holding spinlock on the default or on a user defined cache
  • Typical errorlog entries include :

    Current process (0x641f0075) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
    Address 0x0x0000000001ddbd5f (bufdlink+0x7f), ....

    Spinlocks held by  kpid 1679753333
    Spinlock default data cache at address ...  -- other cache name may be seen

    Followed by a stack trace with functions that can include:

    bufdlink
    bufpindirty
    bufdirty
    pg__getpgbuf
    pg__allocate_completion
    pg__allocate_near_target


  • Attached file KBA_Full_Sequence.txt shows a complete example of errorlog entries
