Importing Data via Data Workbench results in an error "Numeric Field should only Contain Numbers"

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the Data Workbench Workcenter.
  2. Go To Import.
  3. Find Opportunities.
  4. Select the File you want to upload.
  5. The error "Numeric Field should only Contain Numbers" is shown.

Cause

Such an error is normally raised when there is a wrong format in the file or missing entry in the file. 

Resolution

Download the import file once new and expand all the columns and compare them with the file you are trying to upload. Make sure there are no values in columns without any column description.
