3441456 - SAC -Import jobs are not retreiving the data religion from SuccessFactors Import connection query

Symptom

When importing employee data from SAP SuccessFactors into SAP Analytics Cloud using an OData-based Import Data Connection, certain country-specific fields are not populated.

For example:
genericString5Nav

Or:

localNav[countryCode]
returns blank/null values in SAC although corresponding data exists in SuccessFactors.
The issue is commonly observed when importing Religion information from the Personal Information entity.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud 2024.2.8

Reproducing the Issue

Create an SAC model using a SuccessFactors Import Data Connection.
Select Personal Information query.
Include fields similar to genericString5Nav or localNav[countryCode].
Run the import job.
Verify Data Foundation.

Result: Religion field is empty/null.

Cause

This behavior is expected.

In SuccessFactors Employee Central, country-specific personal information is implemented through localization entities.

Fields such as:

localNav

localNavSAU

genericString5Nav

depend on the employee's Country/Region assignment.
If the employee's country value is missing (NULL), SuccessFactors cannot determine which localization entity should be used.

Therefore:

localNav[countryCode] returns NULL and SAC imports a blank value.

The issue does not originate from SAP Analytics Cloud.

The same behavior can be reproduced directly through the SuccessFactors OData API.

Resolution

Maintain a valid country value for the affected employees in SuccessFactors Employee Central.

Example:

Country = AAAA

After maintaining the country information:

Save employee master data in SuccessFactors.
Re-run the import job in SAP Analytics Cloud.
Validate that the localization navigation property is returned correctly.
