Symptom
When users are reviewing classes in the Library, not all classes are displayed by start date. Some classes with facilities are displayed at the top of the list, even though they start at later dates than other classes available.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Reproducing the Issue
- Log into HCM > navigate to Learing as a user >
- In the Library, search the required item that has future classes >
- Click on 'See Classes' (or click on the item itself and navigate to 'Available Classes') >
- Looking at the list of available classes, it's possible to notice they are not sorted by the Start date
Cause
If a facility is provided for the class, and the facility's region is located in the same region as the user's, then that learner will see those classes which are in their region at top of the list, even if there are other classes which are located "out of the user's region" but have an earlier start date.
Hence, the classes which are not in the user's region will be displayed further down in the list.
This is done so that the user viewing the list of classes can view classes in their region first, instead of going to every class and trying to search for a class that belongs to their region.
Resolution
This sort of order is hardcoded and cannot be configured nor modified by the customers.
Alternatively, to have a different system behavior, it would be possible to have an enhancement request created for it (as per KBA 2090228), where the Learning Product Management team can further review and assess the requested functionality to be considered in a future release.
