3442035 - Value of Time Recording Cannot Be Updated after Project Type Changed

You had created a specific project type XXX in business configuration, and its indicator Mandatory Approval of Time Recording is marked. Then you changed the project type from others to A for an existing project, you found that the value of Time Recording could not be updated automatically as per the setting.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Business Configuration Work Center.
2. Navigate to Overview View.
3. Search for Project Types.
4. Choose Open button, then you would find that the indicator Mandatory Approval of Time Recording is marked for project type XXX.
5. Go to Project Management Work Center.
6. Navigate to Project View.
7. Select the project YYY you wish.
8. Choose Edit button.
9. Go to Project Plan> Gantt Chart> Basic Data Subtab.
10. Change Project Type to XXX, then you found that the value of Time Recording could not be updated automatically.

The change/update of "Project Type" will not update or change of or fill Confirmation Approval Indicator and Time Confirmation Profile Code. This filling Confirmation Approval Indicator and Time Confirmation Profile Code and fill Default work unit from Business Configuration. Execute this, only if project type was set for the first time.

This is a standard behavior of the system; it is designed in that way.

You have to take manual action here to change the field value.
