3442090 - How the Warranty Reference Date is Determined in the Registered Product

You want to know, how system determines the Warranty Reference Date in the registered product.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Service Entitlements work center.
2. Go to the Registered Products view.
3. Open a registered product, you can see the Warrant Reference Data is filled. You want to know how this date is determined.

Generally, the warranty reference date in the registered product is taken from the creation date. 

If you manually create a new registered product, the current system date is used as Warranty Reference Date.

If the registered product is created via outbound delivery, the shipment date is used as Warrant Reference Date.

You still have chance to modify the warranty reference date, so the warranty start date is getting updated accordingly.
