3442230 - WDA: 500 Internal Server Error - Dereferencing of the NULL reference dump appears when starting a WDA report (SAP_BW, DW4CORE)

When opening a Web Dynpro report (e.g. in Fiori) the below error message displayed in the browser:

500 Internal Server Error 
Dereferencing of the NULL reference

In ST22 there is a related dump as well with similar header like the below example:
