Symptom
- Existing queries are unable to update with the new connection details, as the existing user who created the job has been deactivated.
- When refreshing the job of which the owner is deactivated, the job failed with below error:
"The request is unauthorized. Check data service URL and credentials. To resolve: if you are the owner of the connection, go to the connection page and edit the connection details and credentials." - When trying to click the 'edit the connection' link, the below message popped up:
"Only the creator of this query can enter credentials this connection. Please ask XXX to fix this issue."
Environment
SAP Analytics Cloud 2024.2.8
Reproducing the Issue
- User A create a connection and an import job.
- Deactivate user A.
- User B try to refresh the job, then below error occurs:
>>"The request is unauthorized. Check data service URL and credentials. To resolve: if you are the owner of the connection, go to the connection page and edit the connection details and credentials."
Cause
- This is by design behavior.
- When deactivating a user, any licenses they consume are temporarily revoked. A deactivated user cannot log on to the system, and all licenses previously consumed by the user are freed to be reallocated.
- The user’s data is saved in the system, but all scheduled data refreshes for models and publications owned by the user are paused.
- Deactivated users are not removed from teams.
Resolution
Create a new import job based on the connection.
