3443857 - HTTP 400 Bad Request error during outbound client certificate based authentication in CPI

Symptom

You are getting HTTP 400 - Bad request error on a HTTP receiver adapter, while the connectivity test to the receiver system is successful.

MPL logs show: com.sap.it.rt.adapter.http.api.exception.HttpResponseException: An internal server error occured: HTTP operation failed invoking 'your_endpoint' with statusCode: 400. 

The LJS logs contain the following error:
