3444161 - Error message "Product ABC not valid; it is not allowed (restricted by product list)"

While adding products to a Sales Order you are getting an error the error "Product ABC not valid; it is not allowed (restricted by product list)"

SAP Cloud for Customer

1. Go to Sales Work Center
2. Go to Sales Order view
3. Select New
4. In the Quick Create screen, enter the Account and valid Sales area which are allowed for product ABC (ABC represents the product ID)
5. Select Add Products, this opens product proposal screen
6. Search for the product ABC in the object value selector

You will see the error message "Product ABC not valid; it is not allowed (restricted by product list)" and the product will not be added.

As an Administrator, you can restrict the selection for products/product categories in sales transaction based on a restricted product list.

Only products from those lists are allowed to be added to a sales transaction. 

This means that products that are not included in the Restricted Products tab, will not be allowed to be added to the Sales Order.

Only products defined in the Restricted Products tab can be added to a sales transaction.

In order to resolve the error, you must add the product to the relevant Product List.

The Product List can be defined as relevant to a specific set of Accounts, Sales Territories, Sales Areas or Target Group.

1. Go to Products WC > Product Lists
2. Open the Product List (or lists) that are relevant to the Sales Order.
3. Go to Restricted Products tab
4. Add the relevant product and save.

Once the product has been added, go back to the Sales Order and add the Product again. You will no longer face errors.
