Symptom

The scanner in app "Set Kanban Container Status" does not work.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Cause

  1. The indicator 'Enable Device Camera' is off in  'Scanner settings'  
  2. Prefix Character or Suffix Character  is not set properly
  3. The scanner button is only visible on touch-enabled devices (e.g. mobile phone, tablet or laptop with a touch screen) .
    The purpose of the scanner button is to scan a barcode on a mobile device with a built-in camera.
    On a laptop, normally a physical barcode scanner (connected via USB or Bluetooth) can be used right away in the Set Kanban Container Status app (without the need to press the scanner button in the app )
