3444996 - Price Difference for Activity Type Not as Expected After Actual Costing Run

After executing the actual costing run, the price difference details for certain activity types may not reflect the expected values.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Execute the Actual Costing Run.
2. Check the price difference details for the relevant activity type.
3. Observe that the price difference is not as expected.

• Check the Activity Consumption Analysis (CKM3A) app for the relevant activity type.
• In the Prices section, review the current status and calculation details.
• Standard Price represents the preliminary price, i.e., the planned cost rate set at the beginning of the period.
• Periodic Unit Price represents the actual cost rate, normally calculated using the Actual Cost Rate Calculation - Cost Centers app.
• The correct unit price difference is calculated as: Periodic Unit Price − Standard Price.
• If Do not process is selected for the Preparation and Settlement steps in the Edit Actual Costing Run app, subsequent changes are not captured in the actual costing run.

It is recommended to select 'Process Again' for the relevant steps and execute all the steps again.
