3445294 - Utilizing the ::ROWCOUNT Variable in HANA

Symptom

You are attempting to replicate the scenario described in KBA 2335329 - "How to find affected rows for a SQL query against ASE using Python - SAP ASE" for SAP ASE database, in SAP HANA database, but the '::ROWCOUNT' variable is not working as expected and the following error is shown:

Could not execute 'Select ::ROWCOUNT From Dummy'

SAP DBTech JDBC: [2820]: SqlScript: ::ROWCOUNT can be used only inside procedure/function/trigger: line 1 col 8 (at pos 7)
