Symptom
In SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has identified an E-Verify case as a duplicate. Guidance is required on the supported workflow to process, close, or move forward with the duplicate case, and on which sub-scenarios apply.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding
Resolution
The E-Verify duplicate case workflow is documented in Help Portal, E-Verify Workflow: E-Verify Workflow | SAP Help Portal
Several sub-scenarios surface as a duplicate case but require different remediation paths. Identify the matching scenario below and follow the linked KBA.
- Duplicate visible in Manage Data > E-Verify Data, but the Onboarding Dashboard shows a different case. Navigate directly to the duplicate Compliance Process via URL and refresh from DHS. See KBA 3641070, How to Close Duplicate E-Verify Case: 3641070 - How to Close Duplicate E-Verify Case - Onboarding - SAP for Me
- Cancel button reports success but the case stays open. The Compliance Process Status is set to "Compliance process completed" and prevents the cancel from updating. See KBA 3598269, Unable to close E-Verify cases without case number: 3598269 - Unable to close E-Verify cases without case number - Onboarding - SAP for Me
- DHS suddenly identifies a duplicate for a candidate that should not have one. DHS may have created the case but failed to return the case number to BizX. See KBA 3239688, E-Verify Suddenly Identify a Duplicate Case for the Candidate: 3239688 - E-Verify Suddenly Identify a Duplicate Case for the Candidate - Onboarding - SAP for Me
- Duplicate occurs after closing TNC and re-creating a manual E-Verify case, with no resolution path on the screen. Permanent fix is OBX-37034 (1H 2025, b2505). See KBA 3561040, Unable to move E-Verify case forward in case of DUPLICATE: 3561040 - Unable to move E-Verify case forward in case of DUPLICATE - Onboarding - SAP for Me
