Symptom
- An open transaction that appeared in OBQ at RRS after scheduled regular weekend server restarts.
- It was observed that new transactions were being replicated but the queue kept increasing due to the open transation.
- Confirmed that the same transaction was replicated from the same PRS to 3 other targets via routes to three other RRSs without any problems.
- Only one RRS had the issue.
- This problem happened multiple times, but it is not reproducible.
- The hosts which host Replication Servers and RSSD servers are scheduled regularly to reboot.
- The DBAs have no control over the host reboot sequence.
- Though only closed transactions are distributed from PRS to RRS. The commitment of this transaction must have been missed.
- Would like to know the root cause so it can be prevented from happening again.
