3445929 - Case Study: Authentication in SSO with limited SAP Companion (Enable Now) license blocks Fiori users

Symptom

  • To use SAP Companion (Enable Now), a user requires a particular license from SAP.
  • To use Fiori, this requires a different type of license outside of SAP companion usage.
  • If a company has limited number of licenses for SAP Companion and also uses the SSO page setup for SAP Companion (Enable Now) then there would be an issue when the following occurs:
    • There are more users of Fiori in the company.
    • There are limited number of licenses available for SAP Companion to be used in the company.
    • The company uses SSO (Single Sign-On) for authentication.
      • What happens are as follows:
        • Example: When the company has 1000 users while only having 100 licenses for SAP Companion (Enable Now), and uses SSO then out of 1000 users only 100 can logon successfully in Fiori which is not ideal
        • How can a company set up SAP Companion with SSO not to block Fiori users from logging in Fiori?
          • Error seen - Refuse to Connect
            ~~~~~~
    • The following known parameters were used:
      • newWindowSAML=true
      • disableManualLogin=true
