When opening contracts with hierarchy items in ME32K, the following error shows and edit is not allowed:
Message No. APPL_MM_PUR_OA_CON049
"Purchase contract XXXXXXXXXX cannot be edited, as it contains hierarchy items"
However contracts can be edited in FIORI App.
