Symptom
- Language shows in input control does not change to show the translated value after changing the Data Access Language in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
Environment
- SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise)
Reproducing the Issue
- Logon to SAC tenant with data access language set to Japanese.
- Enable the translation for import model and translate the dimension description to English.
- Create story based on the import model .
- Add an input control in the story. Confirm the text of input control values are in Japanese.
- Set the filter values and select "All" for the input control, save the story.
- Change data access language to English. Confirmed both the table and the Input Control are changed to English language.
- Change the Data Access language to Japanese, uncheck the "All" filter value in input control and select any other filter values. Save the story.
- Change the Data Access language back to English
==>Notice that the values in input control is still in Japanese.
Cause
- This is the current product design.
- When creating a filter/input control by choosing selective values, a "static filter" is created. This means the list of filter values do not change once it has been created, and the description of the filter values are taken from the time the filter is created even the data access language is changed.
- This design has positive effect on the performance as it will not send additional requests.
