3447820 - It automatically shifted to the parent level after selecting a child node in page filter in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

• Select a Child node in page filter,  it is automatically displayed as the parent member in Classic SAC story

SAP Analytics Cloud 2024.2.16 (SAC)

1. Open the problem story
2. Select a Child value AA of a filter
   => Note that it is automatically displayed as the parent member's value in the filter

• The issue in which the data is split among other node at the same level is because the hierarchical filter in the classic story automatically optimizes the selection in this case. 
• Specifically, when there is only 1 leaf node in a hierarchy and that leaf node is selected, the filter automatically changes the selection to the parent level of the selected node. 
• This usually doesn't cause any problem for BI workflows and is by design. 
• However, with other workflow, this can cause problem.

The solution is to turn on Optimized View Mode or Optimized Design Experience.  The hierarchical filter behaves different in the optimized story and the selection will no longer be automatically shifted to the parent level.
