3448153 - Calling a Fiori UI5 app in S/4 HANA yields a persistent busy indicator in FES 2023 on cFLP

Symptom

  • When on a central Fiori launchpad running FES 2023/SAP_UI 7.58/SAP UI5 1.120 on the backend,  no UI5 Fiori apps can be accessed from the cFLP
  • After launching the app, only the loading indicator (three dots) appears / a persistent busy indicator is visible
  • A console error occurs similar to Uncaught ModuleError: failed to execute module factory for ''sap/ushell/appRuntime/ui5/AppRuntime.js'': Expected ',' or '}' after property value in JSON at position XXXX
