3448548 - Opportunity Item Data Source Does Not Show Updated Product Category ID Information

The Product Category ID information is updated in an opportunity.

The Opportunity Item data source still shows the old Product Category ID information, instead of updated details in existing Opportunities.

SAP Cloud for Customer

1. Navigate to Business Analytics -> Design Data Sources.
2. Search for Opportunity Item and click on Preview.
3. Run the data source for any one existing Opportunity.
4. Add the fields Opportunity, Product and Product Category ID to the view.
5. Note down the Product Category ID value.
6. Now navigate to Product -> Product Categories and change value for above Product Category ID.
7. Repeat the steps 1 to 5.
8. The Opportunity Item Data source preview still shows the old value for Product Category ID.

Opportunity Item Data Source is designed in a way that the Product Category information at the time of the creation of the opportunity will be retained and will not be modified, if the same Product Category ID is updated to a new value.

The Opportunities created after the change will show the new Product Category ID information in the Opportunity item Data source.

This is the current system behavior.

As a workaround, you can use the field Product Category ID (Product) which is an attribute of the characteristic Product. The modified Product Category information will be updated at Product level. So, this field will show you the updated value in the Opportunity Item data source.
