Symptom
The candidate completed all Onboarding steps but is still inactive in Employee Central.
All the necessary conditions was completed:
- The job is configured to run with recurrence. (Reference KBA 2895988)
- In Manage Data > Process > Searching for the candidate's Onboarding Process Id (Reference KBA 3026274)
- The Process Status is open.
- The Task Status is open.
- The Hire Status is set to hired.
- The candidate's tasks is not archived (Reference KBA 3026274 . Therefore, it's important to configure the ONB2_ProcessClosurePeriodConfig with a period that is not too short to avoid closing the tasks before the start date).
- The Hire Date needs to be before than the Target Date for the system logic. (Reference KBA 3306658)
- The candidate's username in Onboarding needs to be unique (If duplicate profiles are identified, the job will not work). (Reference KBA 3335942)
- The HRIS sync job also needs to be configured and run after the ConvertExternalUserOnStartDateJob. (Reference KBA 3220246)

Cause
There is a process for the candidate that was pending and no longer exists in the system. In this case, the job cannot convert the candidate.
Resolution
As a workaround, please use the 'Add New Employee' option to hire this candidate directly in EC.
