3449782 - Created Application Logs for Custom Apps, but Unable to Read Application Log of Custom Application

Symptom

Customer created application log for Custom Application per https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_CLOUD/6aa39f1ac05441e5a23f484f31e477e7/7911b762cdc645418e591169933b77b2.html?q=Developer%20Extensibility, but is unable to read the log after created it.  Error is  "no log found in database".

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create application log per https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_CLOUD/6aa39f1ac05441e5a23f484f31e477e7/7911b762cdc645418e591169933b77b2.html?q=Developer%20Extensibility and write is successful.
  2. Attempt to read the custom application log.

Cause

User lacks authorization to read the custom application log.

Resolution

Permissions required for Authorization object: S_APPL_LOG, with

  • ALG_OBJECT: Object name of the application log

  • ALG_SUBOBJ: Subobject of the application log

  • ACTVT: 03
