3449798 - Error Message "Form template already in use" While Deleting the Form Template

• It is not possible to delete a form.
• An error appears "Form template already in use".

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the work center Application and User Management.
2. Open the view Form Template Maintenance.
3. Select a form and select the Delete button.
4. Its not possible to delete the form due to an error "Form template already in use".

• This is the expected system behaviour.
• A form which is in use should not be deleted as this can cause inconsistencies.
• The feature "Resubmit with Original Version" would cause a problem too.

SAP does not permit the deletion of form templates that have already been used in an output.

However, the user can manage form template usage through Form Template Selection Rules, which are configured in the Application and User Management work center. These rules allow the user to define which form template should be used in specific business scenarios.

Alternatively, the user can assign a specific form template directly to an individual account:

1. Navigate to the Account Management work center.
2. Go to the Accounts view.
3. Open the desired account.
4. In the Collaboration tab, open the Communication facet.
5. Specify the appropriate form template (e.g., for customer invoices).

Note: Any form template or output rules defined at the account level will override other configuration settings.
