A restore operation between databases involves the transfer of data. It comprises a source environment (from which the data is collected) and a destination environment (which is updated with the data from the source environment).
This process is carried out by the SAP Database Administrators team. However, before the task is executed, there are important items that the task requester needs to validate with the responsible party within their team.
These items include:
- Should any data be obfuscated between the source and destination environments?
- Is there a specific date, time, and timezone when this process should be performed?
- If you are currently using Identity Provider (IDP)/Single Sign-On (SSO) configurations, have you already exported them?
- If using IDP/SSO, ensure that you have a user with standard authentication who can log in and manually import the SSO/IDP configuration after the restoration.
This article aims to provide guidance regarding the items three and four, sharing the steps on how to validate this information and ensure it is exported safely.
