3450065 - Error in invocation: error 110 - Connection timed out (Connection timed out)


  • You experience an intermittent timeout error for a specific interface during message processing in Process Integration (PI) or Process Orchestration (PO).
  • The error can occur for any Adapter type. 
  • The below example is related to a Receiver SOAP AXIS Adapter: 
    Axis: error in invocation: error 110 - Connection timed out (Connection timed out) (local port <port> to address <IP address> (<hostname>), remote port <port> to address <IP address>) 
  • For the most part, message processing is quite fast e.g. the majority of messages are successfully processed in under 10 seconds. 
  • The common thing here is that the timeout occurs before the default 5 minute timeout which PI/PO allows for message exchange.
  • Also, the error occurs at the same time each time, in this example the timeout error occurs at approx. 2 minutes and 10 seconds.
