3450189 - It is not possible to delete a transport request with SBCL Token or make changes to tasks and objects of it - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

  • In the 'Export Customizing Transports' app, the 'Delete' option is grayed out. As a result, unable to delete transport requests containing SBCL Tokens objects/tasks.
  • The "Delete" button is greyed out and it is not possible to delete the task or object under a transport request containing SBCL Tokens in Export Customizing Transports App.
  • It's also not possible to move a task to other Transport Request because the "Move" button is greyed out and the "Attributes" tab shows "Manages semantic business and configuration locks".

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

It is not possible to delete requests, request objects, tasks and task objects which contain the Object Type Semantic Business Configuration Lock Token.

Resolution

Transport requests can only be deleted if their status is Modifiable and they do not contain objects of type Semantic Business Configuration Lock Token.

Requests, tasks, or objects containing SAP_SBCL_CONTROLLED attributes or SBCL tokens should not be deleted. Certain customizing objects follow the Semantic Business Configuration Lock (SBCL) process: saving configuration changes in the development system creates corresponding locks in the production system. These locks are released only when the transports containing the SBCL tokens are imported into production.

For this reason, directly deleting the affected tasks or objects is not supported.

To resolve this, revert the configuration changes in the customizing tenant of the development system, then transport the reverted configuration through the test and production systems. Importing the transport into production will release the corresponding locks.
