Customer needs to update the UoM quantity conversion for material and while saving the changes the error "changing the conversion not possible; it is used by one or more open project baselines, projects" is raised.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Product Data work center.
2. Access the Materials view.
3. Locate and select the relevant material.
4. Click the Edit button.
5. Click the View All button.
6. In the General tab, scroll down to Quantity Conversion section.
7. Try to delete or change a quantity conversion.
8. Error message is raised.

The relevant material or service is already used in one or more documents of the type(s) mentioned in the error message, so it is:

1. Not possible to modify the existing quantity conversion.
2. Not possible to remove the existing quantity conversion.
3. Not possible to have another row with a different value for the same UoM (unit of measure) combination.

The reason for this is that the business documents which are using this material or service would end up in inconsistency if the change was allowed.

The veto check executed is not at quantity conversion level, but rather at material/service level: if that material/service is being used in a document, even if the quantity conversion used is one other than the one you intend to delete or change, the system will still block the action.

You can use the standard report available in the system to check if product is linked in more than one project.

1. Go to Business Analytics work center.
2. Click on Design Reports.
3. In the search field insert "Project Product Data" and click on the link of the report name.
4. In the filter "Product" insert the product ID and click on "Apply" button.
5. You will get the result about which projects the product is linked.
