Symptom
When utilizing a Calendar Initial Basis curricula with a Required Date Basis of Hired Date, users have differing Required Dates even though the Curricula was assigned with the same Assignment Date.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Reproducing the Issue
Example curricula configuration of one item:
- Initial Number: 365
- Initial Period: Days
- Threshold: Entire Period
- Initial Basis: Calendar
- Previous Completions: N/A
- Required Date Basis: Hired Date
- Retraining Number: N/A
- Retraining Period: N/A
- Retraining Basis: N/A
- Basis Date: 1/1/2024
- Effective Date: 1/1/2024
- Assignment Type: Required
User1:
- Hire Date: empty
User2:
- Hire Date: 1/1/2020
When the curricula is assigned to both User1 and User2, the Required Date of the item in the curricula differ.
Resolution
Due to the Required Date Basis being Hired Date but one user does not have a hire date on their user record, the users will have differing Required Dates calculated.
If a user has a Hire Date on the user record:
- The system will first consider the user's hired date parameter and then take into account the Basis Date of the item on the curricula:
- If the hired date is before the Basis Date, the system calculates the Required Date based on the Basis Date.
- If the hired date is after the Basis Date, the system calculates the Required Date based on the Hire Date field on the user record.
If a user has a blank/null value on Hire Date on the user record:
- The system will calculate the Required Date based on the Basis Date, as well as utilizing the Initial Number, Initial Period, and Threshold.
