3451127 - WBS element could not be assigned to Maintenance order due to error message IW516 - "Assigning PM order to WBS element & is not allowed" - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

When assigning WBS element in APP Create/Change Maintenance Order, the error message IW516 "Assigning PM order to WBS element & is not allowed" occurs.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open App Change Maintenance Order
2. Select Organizational Data, input WBS element
3. Press Enter

Statistical project and overhead project are unacceptable for maintenance order.

In case of investment and revenue project, there are cases or situation where cost needs to be planned and do execute maintenance where actual gets posted in maintaining of the object/material. Hence the creation of the maintenance order are allowed in such type of projects.

In case of the overhead project, it is used for tracking and monitor the management expenses and other indirect cost and statistical project which used for tracking cost but actuals are posted to other cost object. In both the cases there is no need of having maintenance of the material from such project type prospective. Hence, the assign of maintenance order is blocked in such type of the projects in cloud environment.

Assign revenue project or investment project to maintenance order.
