3451229 - [ONB] Onboardee (Rehire with Old Employment) access to LMS

Symptom

  • Whether the Onboarding user Rehired with Old Employment can be assigned courses from LMS before his/her Rehire date (just like the external Onboardee)? 
  • The behavior currently is that despite completing Manage pending hires, the status of the Rehired user is appearing as Terminated in LMS until the Rehire date and we are unable to assign any learning courses.

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

  • Activate "Rehire with Old Employment" in Onboarding.
  • The Start date for the Onboardee is in future.
  • The Rehire checks are completed (Rehire with Old employment) and user is moved to Manage Pending Hires
  • Employee rehire is completed from MPH
  • But unable to assign LMS courses before start date of the user. The same behavior is not observed with external users. 

Cause

  • The learning Integration does not include rehires. 

Resolution

  • To be able to assign Learning course to rehire users before start date you need to adjust your Learning integration to make sure that they are extracting the rehire users as well to activate them. Please check with you SF Learning Team on how to reactivate the old user through the connector.
  • Once you have made changes to the Leaning Integration to include rehire users this issue will not appear.
