3451258 - Unable to delete existing PR /PO Document types

• How to delete/unlink the document type.
• How to restrict the unwanted document types while creating the documents like PO or PR.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Go to CBC activity Define Document Types for PR/PO.
2. Copy an existing Purchase Requisition (PR) document type.
3. Try to delete or unlink the document type.
4. System does not allow deletion.

It is not possible to change delivered configuration content and also it is not possible to delete custom configuration entered for PO types - Define Document Types for Purchase Orders (SSCUI 102909) or for PR types - Define Document Types for Purchase Requisitions (SSCUI 103385). 

 In above SSCUI, copy existing standard entries to create new ones, this allows to change the document type name and description.

When copying the document type initially, only the header line can be copied without the dependencies. Subsequently, in the sub-entities, there is an option to 'Create New' and add specific item categories and follow-on document types as needed.

So once a new/custom document type is created, it cannot be deleted.

• Able to mark the unwanted custom entries as 'Do Not Use'.

• The usage of certain document types can be restricted through authorization profiles.

• Use the PR/PO BADIs to make sure no user can process any unwanted document type.

The BADI's for PO are listed below:

• MM_PUR_S4_PO_MODIFY_HEADER
• MM_PUR_S4_PO_MODIFY_ITEM
• BD_MMPUR_FINAL_CHECK_PO
