3451606 - How to Forecast multiple accounts target in one Predictive Scenario in SAC

Symptom

  • SAP Analytics Cloud - How to Forecast multiple accounts target in one Predictive Scenario in SAC
  • How to select or filter multiple account in Predictive Scenario - forecast.
  • Is there a method to choose multiple accounts or perhaps option for a hierarchical selection in SAC - Smart Predict - Forecast

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2024 (SAC)

Cause

Target: the target is the KPI to be predicted (an account or a measure).

Smart Predict, doesn’t support models with multiple target (as different target may require different modeling settings). Smart Predict will always work with data aggregated at the level of the selected account.

For instance, let assume 3 account P, A1 and A2 such as A1 and A2 are children of P. If P is selected as target, then Smart Predict will train a model using data aggregated at the level of account P. If one wants a forecast specifically for A1 and one forecast specifically for A2, then one must create explicitly one predictive model with A1 as target and one predictive model with A2 as target. Note that values are not available every month for every account, it’s better to avoid working at the level of the children account and instead work at the parent level.

Resolution

If you need to forecast each sub account individually, and therefore need multiple predictive model, you can use multi actions to forecast all the accounts in one go.
