Symptom
When editing IBAN information, it shows warning message: "IBAN reached the maximum length allowed of 35 characters." even if you have set a lower number for IBAN Length Without Spaces in Manage Data > Country/Region Specific Validation Configuration.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Reproducing the Issue
- Go to People Profile > Payment Information
- Select any effective date
- Insert 35 IBAN characters
- Warning message: "IBAN reached the maximum length allowed of 35 characters." pops-up
Cause
It does not follow IBAN Length Without Space from Manage Data > Country/Region Specific Validation Configuration.
It respects Maximum Length from Configure Object Definitions > Payment Information Detail.
Resolution
- Go to Configure Object Definitions
- Object Definition > Payment Information Detail
- Edit Maximum Length for IBAN according to your needs
- Save
- Now you will be able to control it
