3452321 - Product Description is Empty in Intercompany Sales Orders

You have created an intercompany sales order from purchase order, and found the product description is missing in the order line. However, the product description for language ZH is maintained in product master data (login language is also ZH).

The issue is not occurred when you manually create a new sales order for the same product.

SAP Business Design

1. Go to the sales orders work center view.
2. Open the sales order ABC. (ABC represents the ID of the intercompany sales order).
3. Go to the Items tab, you find the product description is not displayed.
4. Double click the product ID hyperlink to open the product master data, the product description for the login language is actually maintained.

The sales order ABC is an intercompany sales order, created from purchase order.

In intercompany scenario, the order is created by A2B messages not manually by the login user. So the language is not taken from the login user. The language is EN by default. 

Since there is no product description maintained in EN language, the product description in the order line is not displayed.

This is the current system design.
