3452380 - Middle name field is missing for employees in China

The Middle Name field is not visible for  China employees in Biographical Data. However, for employees of nationalities other than Chinese, the Middle Name field is visible.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Personnel Administration work center
2. Go to Employees view
3. Search for the employee - ABC
4. Edit the Employee data
5. Go to Biographical Data under Personal Data 
6. Middle name field is missing

Although you have hired this employee through one of the options in the non-localized dropdown, the country you selected is actually a localized country in SAP Business ByDesign.

This dropdown is the same one used in every country/region selection in the system, so all countries are displayed - not only the non-localized ones.

The employee is being hired using an option from the dropdown menu that is not localized. However, the country selected is a localized country within SAP Business ByDesign.

In the system, each country has its own set of rules. In China, the middle name is not required and this is the standard behavior. 

When hiring an employee through the Localized China tab, the middle name field is not visible. This is because it follows the specific rules and requirements for employees in China.
