3452380 - Middle name field is missing for employees in China.

The Middle Name field is not visible for  China employees in Biographical Data. However, for employees of nationalities other than Chinese, the Middle Name field is visible.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Personnel Administration work center
2. Go to Employees view
3. Search for the employee - ABC
4. Edit the Employee data
5. Go to Biographical Data under Personal Data 
6. Middle name field is missing

Although you have hired this employee through one of the options in the non-localized dropdown, the country you selected is actually a localized country in SAP Business ByDesign.

This dropdown is the same one used in every country/region selection in the system, so all countries are displayed - not only the non-localized ones.

User have  hired this employee using one of the options available in the non-localized dropdown menu. However, the country you selected is actually a localized country within SAP Business ByDesign.

Each localized country in the system follows its own specific set of rules. In the case of China, the middle name is not a mandatory field, and this behavior is standardized.

When you hire an employee via the Localized China tab, you will not be able to see the middle name field, as it aligns with the specific rules and requirements for employees in China.
