3452825 - "Last modified on" in job history is getting updated even with no field changes

Symptom

  • Based on documentation Fields Not Propagated in Job Information, the customer believed that last modified date and by should not be updated when a record had values changed due to forward propagation.
  • We added a new job info record through MSS (take action) with start date before the latest record. Then the 'last modified by' and 'last modified date' got propagated in the future record(s) unexpectedly.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Cause

  • Forward propagation updates on future records compared to new record created in between.
  • Custom Integration job based on 'last modified date' can cause records being updated by forward propagation.

Resolution

It is expected behavior if a field such as a manager, location, employee status etc is changed on a former record then, as part of forward propagation, 'last modified on' and 'last modified by' is updated on the newer records too based on the new record created.
