3453250 - How to delete Right of Use Assets with status "In Process" for a Cancelled Lease Contract

You want to delete a Right of Use Asset (RoU) for a cancelled Lease Contract.

After the Release of a Lease Contract a Right of Use Asset was created. You made a mistake in the Lease Contract, so you cancel the contract. You expect that the related Right of Use Asset updates to status "Retired", however it remains in status "In Process".

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Work center Fixed Asset.
2. Go to View Fixed Asset.
3. Search for Right of Use Asset ABC. (ABC represents the RoU Asset ID)

You can see the Status of the RoU Asset is "In Process".

Therefore you expect the Delete Button to be available, because no postings have been completed for the RoU Asset, however the Delete Button is greyed out.

If you cancel the Lease contract and there are no postings completed on the RoU Asset then it is possible to delete the Lease Contract.

Once the Lease Contract is deleted, automatically the "In Process" Rou Asset ABC gets deleted also.
