3453398 - Workflow is not triggered for future dated hire when going on Global Assignment - CS2H2023

Symptom

Global Assignment Workflow is not getting triggered if employee is future dated hire and adding global assignment on same date as hire date or different date (after hire date) when centralised services is enabled for global assignment

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central: Global Assignment

Reproducing the Issue

Prerequisites:

  • Enable Centralized Services for Global Assignment (Applicable for Add, Edit, End and Obsolete actions from UI) under company system and logo settings.
  • Configure workflow to trigger while adding global assignment.
  • GACONFIG (under manage data) is set to end the global assignments automatically.

Steps:

  1. Hire a future dated employee and saved successfully.
  2. Go to the future dated hire profile -> take action -> add Global Assignment -> fill in the details -> save.
  3. Result: Data got saved successfully without workflow.

Resolution

  • Our Engineering team is investigating the issue currently.
  • Workaround: In the meantime, to temporarily unblock business activities you can temporarily disable "Enable Centralized Services for Global Assignment (Applicable for Add, Edit, End and Obsolete actions from UI) " from Company System and Logo Settings. Please note this is a temporary workaround and should not be used as a permanent solution. Please ensure you re-enable the Centralized Services switches after the issue is fixed so that you can continue to enjoy the benefits of Centralized Services.

Please Note:

  • Issue is reproducible only for future hire going on Global assignment.
  • For existing user or user hired in the past, workflow is triggering as expected.
  • For Centralized Services related issues, disabling the Centralized Services switch for the component/transaction in Company System and Logo Settings is a temporary solution. You can disable the related switch as a work-around and you should enable the switch back once SAP have confirmed the issue is fixed.
