3453749 - Importing data into a model takes a very long time in SAP Analytics Cloud

 Import jobs using the Cloud Agent take a very long time to finish:

• BW
• BW/4HANA
• BPC
• ERP
• HANA
• Universe
• SQL

• SAP Analytics Cloud
• Import connections

  1. Log on to the SAC tenant.
  2. Open a model based on an import data connection.
  3. Navigate to the Data Management tab, where an import job is listed under Import Jobs.
  4. Observe that the import job takes a very long time to update or run, even when the number of rows has not changed or is not excessively large

The tomcat maximum memory pool has been reached.

To optimize performance, increase the Tomcat memory pool size by editing the Cloud Agent configuration:

1. Open the Cloud Agent configuration file.

2. Locate the Tomcat Java heap size settings (for example, the Xms and Xmx parameters).

3. Review the current maximum heap size (Xmx) value.

4. If sufficient server memory is available and the server is dedicated to the Cloud Agent, consider increasing the maximum heap size to 6144 MB or 8192 MB.

5. If the current heap size is already 4096 MB and memory-related issues are still occurring, consider increasing it further after verifying available system resources.

6. Save the configuration changes.

7. Restart the Cloud Agent service to apply the new settings.
